Home Access® HIV-1 Express Test

Expedited Results in 3 days

confidential and anonymous, all inclusive diagnostic test performed at home for the determination and identification of the HIV virus in whole blood.  Clinically proven to be greater than 99.9% accurate and approved for home use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. All inclusive price for one complete HIV test screen, start to finish. Prepaid laboratory processing, personal coded identification (PIN) number, prepaid FEDEX Express mailer and toll free 800 number access for test results and professional counseling if required. Anonymity of results is guaranteed.

The Home Access® HIV-1 Test was developed for use in screening for and identifying the human immunodeficiency virus in whole blood. The test is anonymous and completed on a private and confidential basis at home without the necessity and high cost of physician consultations and laboratory fees. The comprehensive test kit includes all the components required to anonymously collect a small whole blood specimen, have it processed and screened for the HIV virus by an accredited diagnostic laboratory and receive the results within 2-3 days. The Home Access® HIV test has been clinically proven and certified by the FDA to be safe, effective and equally accurate as HIV tests administered by doctors, clinics and professional healthcare providers. Use of a Home Access® HIV Test kit affords total anonymity and privacy regardless of state and local laws. Several states have attempted to block the sale of the Home Access® HIV Test kit citing their laws that mandate the reporting of names of HIV infected persons. However, federal court rulings have upheld the FDA approval of the Home Access® HIV Test over the more restrictive state laws.

HIV is the abbreviation used for the human immunodeficiency virus. HIV is the virus that causes AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome), a life-threatening disease. HIV attacks the body's immune system. Normally, the immune system produces white blood cells and antibodies that attack viruses and bacteria. The infection-fighting cells are called T-cell lymphocytes. Months to years after a person is infected with HIV, the virus destroys the T-cell lymphocytes. When the T-cell lymphocytes are destroyed, the immune system can no longer defend the body against diseases and tumors. Various infections called opportunistic infections develop that take advantage of the body's weakened immune system. These infections would not normally cause severe or fatal health problems. However, when you have AIDS, the opportunistic infections eventually cause death because your body can no longer defend itself against them. AIDS is the condition of the body being overwhelmed by opportunistic infections and/or tumors. See AIDS FAQ.

HIV Kit Contents

FDA approved Sample Collection and Processing Kit:

Pre-treated specimen collection card, finger lancets, lancet disposal container, gauze, alcohol swabs, band-aid, anonymous PIN number, (800) telephone access number, sample return envelope with prepaid FedEx Express label (valid for U.S. Customers Only) instruction manual and AIDS information and resource guide.

The complete test procedure is accomplished in a few easy steps using the materials provided in the kit package. Prior to testing, a special toll free number is called to activate the 14 digit test code and to obtain anonymous access to professional counselors to insure the entire test process is understood. Using the spring loaded lancet device, the finger is pricked and two drops of blood are deposited on a specially treated test card. The sample test card is then sealed and placed in the self addressed prepaid Fedex Overnight mailer (Fedex prepaid overnight mailer is not valid for Export Customers) . In three business days, the special access toll free number is called for test results. Using only the assigned 14 digit code PIN number, the caller is given the test results and if necessary, has the option to receive professional post-test aids counseling and medical referrals.
